Holodetect sensors and instruments utilize Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM) and artificial intelligence to automatically analyze volumetric liquid samples to detect, classify, and count objects, cells, and microorganisms in the 1-500 micron range.
HIGH RESOLUTION
Holodetect HiRes is a high resolution instrument that measures objects in the size range of 1 - 75 μm in flow-through mode with a measured volume of 3,6-18 μl/min and reports particle class, count, size, and shape statistics.
Holodetect LVol is an instrument capable of measuring large liquid volumes
LARGE VOLUME
Holodetect LVol is an instrument capable of measuring large liquid volumes containing objects in the size range of 3 - 500 μm in flow-through mode with a measured volume of 3-50 ml/min and reports particle class, count, size, and shape statistics. This instrument is well suited for larger cell-size algae species (e.g. Spirulina).
Both instruments perform cell classification and detection in mono- as well as multi-species cultures and provides reliable cell count estimates in conglomerates. Holodetect DHMs use retrainable deep learning for object detection and classification. Report types can flexibly be configured.
HOLOGRAPHIC RECONSTRUCTION COMBINED WITH FLUORESCENT MICROSCOPE
Holodetect HiRes/LVol + Fluor are laboratory instruments for detecting and counting small particles or biological contents with fluorescence in fluids. In addition to Holodetect DHM functions, Holodetect +Fluor performs automatic cell counting based on the fluorescence of cells.
The fluorescence intensity is measured at the cell or sample level. It can be used for approximating the chlorophyll content of the cells.
+Fluor has customizable excitation wavelengths and emission filter to detect various autofluorescent molecules and the enables the use of fluorescent labeling with dyes.
Combining labeled and label-free fluorescence feature measurements, +Fluor can also reliably distinguish live cells from dead ones.
INTEGRATED SAMPLE ANALYSIS AND PREPARATION,
COST-EFFICIENT INLINE MONITORING OF MULTIPLE REACTORS
A single Holodetect digital holographic microscope can be connected to multiple reactors through the Holodetect SmartSampler. The device samples reactors in a programmed manner, as well as measures the sample’s turbidity, fluorescence, and OD at multiple wavelengths. The device determines the optimal dilution ratio for the DHM and dilutes the sample automatically.
Also exists as a built-in module in Holodetect DHMs.
Holodetect instruments can be interfaced with existing or under development industrial production processes (food processing, microalgae production, water quality monitoring, etc.). We are ready to implement custom inline sampling and measurement solutions, feeding real-time data to the control loop of the system.
A single Holodetect DHM Head Unit connects up to 8 PBRs. The sample circulates through sampling loops and enters DHMS through a unidirectional sampling gate, eliminating the risk of contamination. Self cleaning protocols are implemented in all sample handling units.
The lower cost head units and server-side processing enables cost-effective scale-up of system-wide inline monitoring.
